Adopt an Adult

Cedarwinds will occasionally offer retired adults or young adults (who do not prove to be breeding quality) for adoption in local homes.  I will not ship my adults, so in order to be considered, you must live within a 3-hour radius from me, as I do come to your home twice to visit...once after 1 month and then again at 3 months.  No adoption is final until after 3 months, and I reserve the right to bring the dog back to Cedarwinds if he/she is not adapting to her new home.  I require that you already have a dog in your home for canine companionship for the dog you adopt from me.  After being in a kennel environment, I feel it would be too hard for the dog to adapt in a home where there is no other dog for companionship.  Prior to leaving here, the dog will be current on all shots, including rabies, have dental work up-to-date, be micro chipped, and be either spayed or neutered.

Housebreaking the dog will likely be your biggest challenge.  My dogs are used to dog doors where they can go out whenever they wish.  If you have an area in your home where you can install a dog door that will lead out to an enclosed outdoor patio or kennel, then it will be fairly easy to accomplish house-training.  If you are home all the time, then training without a dog-door will be a possibility.  My females all whelp in my house, so they are all familiar with the environment.  They are also leash-broke and have had some exposure to car rides.

If you are a patient person and if you are interested in one of my adults, please give me a call.
